1. Set your ceiling fans to rotate counterclockwise to push air down to create a wind-chill effect. Find the switch on the fan’s motor housing.

Bonus: in winter, flip it back to clockwise to gently pull cool air up and circulate warm air down.

2. Run big appliances at night. Dishwashers, dryers, and ovens generate heat. Running them in the evening keeps your home cooler. Take advantage of the season and cook outside when you can.

3. Avoid summer overloads. With A/C units, fans, fridges, and power tools running more often, summer is prime time for overloaded circuits. If you’re seeing flickering lights, tripped breakers, or warm outlets - it’s a sign your system may need an upgrade.
